Tonight I saw a sneak preview of "Over the Hedge", which was extremely amusing. I am a sucker for CG cartoons, and even more so for the kind of (sometimes rather childish) comedy that is typical of them. Although I don't know how you can go wrong with Steve Carell as a caffeinated, manic squirrel, and Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara as anybody. William Shatner was eh, and Gary Shandling sounded like he was trying to be Wallace Shawn. One thing that struck me about the animation was its excellent sense of cartoony exaggeration; very much in the tradition of old mid-20th-century Warner Brothers stuff.
Anyhow I'm sure the point of having free showings was so that I rave about it and convince you all to go see it when it comes out. So go see it when it comes out!
