What I expect windows to do when I drag a font from the Fonts folder to the desktop: make a copy of it, because that's what it does when you drag a font into the Fonts folder.
What it actually does: move the font, in the sense of it no longer being in the Fonts folder.

What I expect web browsers to do when their default font totally doesn't exist: throw some kind of error message.
What they actually do: silently failceed, except that now all your (non-bold) fonts are italic.

Oh well, at least reinstalling Arial fixed everything.
