Here is a neat solution to a problem I often have, which is so simple I should have figured it out long ago.

Problem: I have exactly three zillion tabs open at once, because I'm like goin' through my friends-page backlog, middle-clicking on every interesting link. I subsequently go through all the open tabs, and find something totally hilarious, but I can't for the life of me figure out where the link came from. I go to my friends-page, view source, it's not there, check .../friends?skip=20, still not there. WTF it had to have come from somewhere, right?

Solution: In firefox do Tools → Page Info, look for "Referring URL", which helpfully is selectable text so I can copy and paste it, even. Maybe IE has some similar feature too, Idunno.

The particular thing I was looking for was this cute "cover" of the Mr. RogersSesame Street "people in your neighborhood" song which came from this post of sally's.
