Man, score one for packrat habits.

I thought I had a show-stopping gap in my proof, which would have been incredibly aggravating this late in the game. But then I thought the problem seemed kind of familiar, and I went and looked through my research/sketch/journal/whatever notebooks from a few months ago and found that I had in fact encountered and solved the same problem in volume 27 page 75. I've always been thankful to past-me for keeping these things around just for nostalgia's sake --- I find it awfully amusing to remember what I was thinking about when I was, like, fourteen --- but this time it's been very concretely useful.
