Lunched with Jen, talked about work stuff with Noam, a mixture of work and other stuff with Donna, dropped in at a barbecue at Mike Beattie's, but most the folks in attendence were far too sloshed for my liking. I have been starting to read lately Zafon's "The Shadow of the Wind" and it is awesome. As fairy-tale-mysterious as Coelho, but not quite as sentimental. A story as littered with beautiful particulars (and as suffused with an authentic, radiating love of books) as Borges, but not as unapproachably erudite. |
