After having to compile a bunch of other shit just to get it to run, I discovered that pbmtext segfaults at the least provocation, and doesn't handle characters at code points greater than 255. Grr. Silly C programs.
In more pleasant news, I figured out how to play Ben Folds's "Luckiest" on the piano, which is a lovely, lovely song. Part of the reason I respond so well to it, I think, is that deep in my brain, there can be found two little bits, one which recognizes the chord progression of "Canon in D" and the other which releases happy euphoric neurochemicals, and there is like an interstate highway's worth of synapses between 'em.
