The presidential debates started out interesting, but quickly got inane and vacuous-sounding. Kerry seems to like to drop a lot of numbers and demographic groups and names of swing-states, and Bush is full of exasperated smirks and "stay on the offensive, y'all!" attitude and "of course I'm doing the right thing!".

well, but it's really unsettling to hear him say "what we need is certainty"

I think it ended up with Kerry really clarifying a bunch of points. I have a better feeling about why he voted for the war now. And the nuclear proliferation stuff was edifying as well, to see what huge gaps there still are between them on some issues.
