The following question occurred to me yesterday: why do people think it's bad for children to learn about sex, swear words, etc. too early? I realize it still seems hazily self-evident to me, but I can't think of a good argument. I mean, as a parent, you'd rather they hear your version than, god forbid, their peers', right? So why not start being incredibly explicit as soon as they can talk? I don't get it.
