The Electronic Labyrinth is a somewhat old (1993) work which sounds arrestingly fresh nonetheless — as long as you steer clear of the "available software" section. It's a hypertext about hypertext, but it ties the concept into much larger literary traditions, so it manages to escape a little bit from sounding too stridently like hip-late-80s-early-90s-obsession-with-hypertext, even though, let's face it, that's kind of what it is. But I still like it.
