Finished reading the last 20 pages or so of Eagleton's "Literary Theory" and read Wells's "The Origin of Language". Had some Olive Garden.

There is an organization which has the advertised aim of strategically moving a lot of christians into south carolina voting districts to get them to secede from the union and form a more "properly christian" state. It's interesting to see that they claim in their membership page that they are against "infringement of our God-given right to keep and bear arms". I wonder what causes them to believe that the God of Abraham and Moses is so deeply concerned about the necessity of a well-regulated militia. That's actually not a throw-away comment, if any of you out there could help me understand why gun-rights and christianity seem to be so strongly correlated in this political landscape here; it's often confused me.
