Got the camera working with both my laptop (which was rather easy: I just looked up a magical obscure line to add to my fstab and mount /dev/sda1 does the right thing) and my mom's computer (which was rather tricky, since she has 98 and not XP: it was a big hassle to find the drivers, thatnks to minolta's shitty website, and then to realize the reason they weren't installing correctly was that the self-extracting executable saw fit to create a couple hidden files so that when I copied "all" of the files onto a disk for the wizard to find, I didn't) So now I have a portable 128M hard drive, which incidentally has a lens and a CCD on it.
