Well, gave the talk, and I don't think it wont too terribly. Things I definitely did wrong: talked to the slides rather than the audience, rushed it a but, left the laser pointer in my backpack with the battery in so it ran out (presumably shining a bright red dot in the bag all the while). Nonetheless, I'm more or less content with how the slides themselves turned out in the end, and I learned a lot of valuable lessons I probably wouldn't have without frist-hand experience.
