Played-a the music with-a the people. Some comments sally made earlier (while I was helping her cut foamboard for the arts-and-stuff class she's teaching) about eighth-note rhythm consisting of two-groups and three-groups in western music sank in, and I was feeling these crazy rhythms that didn't add up to anything an particular, but were just long strings of eighths. Also making progress on playing 3-against-2 and (almost!) 4-against-3. Dave McWherter still cannot count to save his life. I was improvising in 7/8, and he counted "1 and 2 and 3 and 4" and left out the final "and", and was convinced I was playing straight 4/4 until I pointed out his fencepost error.
I am feeling dangerously smug.
