Lunch at Kazansky's with adam and sal. Sharp white cheddar is really good.

Went to this "Jazz in the park" thing at Phipp's, the Frank Cunimodo Trio playing. Great music. There were two songs I actually recognized, which I was pretty surprised at, considering how woefully tiny my jazz-listening experience is: "For Heaven's Sake" I had heard on Gary Burton and Makoto Ozone's "Face to Face", and "St. Thomas", which I learned way back when in high school when I was still taking jazz piano lessons proper. It makes a big difference to me, listening to jazz, whether I know the piece or not: it makes the distinction between the head and the solos that much sharper, and knowing what subtle things to listen for in the solos is fun.
