Watching the last of Jazz with Lea now. I'm starting to see what people were criticizing it for: it is pretty harsh on free jazz, critical of some of Coltrane's stuff that I thought was totally listenable, and I imagine I can't even imagine what it's leaving out. Still, sooo much good music. Oh god. Sarah Vaughn's singing. Ornette Coleman's stuff. Cecil Taylor's demon-possessed piano playing.
