Finally finished "Romance Languages". The last chapter, on romance creoles, was pretty awesome. Creoles really appeal to me somehow, with their ridiculously unbaroque verbal systems and blurriness of categorical distinctions. I should try to find some knowledgeable person to ask about this whole crazy-vanishing-copula-debate the book alludes to, since I don't think I'll find the answer in the bibs.
