OH MY GOD I HATE YOU IE SO VERY MUCH I REALLY DO ARG.
I will try to remember to copy and paste long updates somewhere else before they are randomly destroyed. Arg arg arg.
In resummary: Finished "The Power of Babel". Good book. Neat stuff about the origins of gender and tone systems, debunkage of Proto-World reconstructibility, yet disappointing lack of argumentation in favor of blithely stated naturality of not using tone, not having inflectional system, etc.
This leaves my reading stacky-queuey thing in the following state:
Hundred Years of Solitude, ~200p read.
The Loom of Language, ~200p read.
The Phoenix Guard, ~200p read.
Vojagxoj en Esperanto-Lando, ~50p read.
Enkonduku en la Japanan, 30p read.
Guns, Germs, and Steel, should read.
Ombroj sur Interna Pejzagxo, should read.
Paradigms Lost, am told I should read.
Perhaps the general level of doom may subside in the near futre.
Also looking at Dowek-Kirchner-Pfenning-Perhaps a fourth author paper again. Need to repenetrate the mysteries of pattern unification.
