Went to module systems. A paper was presented whose content was widely regarded by the cognoscenti present to be misguided and more or less irrelevant, except as a prelude to certain other things that the class will be doing later. But still basically misguided. Whee.

The complexity midterm is being pretty difficult. The first half is okay, but I'm not making much progress on anything in the second. I still have until Tuesday, I guess.

Checked out "The Complete Prose of Woody Allen" from Hillman, a collection of three books of (mostly) New Yorker columns by him. I read "Getting Even" just now, leaving "Without Feathers" and "Side Effects". Pretty funny stuff. It reminds me of Borges a little only in the sense that a lot of the individual pieces seem to have a certain structure, a certain style they're going after or imitating, as if it's not enough to write simply different stories about different things, but instead in a noticeably different form each time. But... yeah. Not nearly as dark as Borges.
