Hmm. I haven't finished kicking all the tires, but the following looks promising as a way of getting at the box-plus and box-minus modalities I've been thinking about:

What's really surprising to me is how asymmetric the translations of the shifts are, which usually gets me into trouble when I try to prove a Brouwer three-negations-are-one lemma. And yet it seems to go through fine:

Also I can seem to prove that box-plus and box-minus are kinda sorta adjoint to each other. Here's the unit, anyway; I didn't write up the counit:
