K brought over Jarmusch's Night on Earth, a movie made of several vignettes that all take place in a taxi. It features a tremendously endearing young Winona Ryder, an amusingly out-of-this-world East German ex-clown being baffled by NYC, and Roberto Benigni as a complete lunatic. The characters are all really rather painted with primary colors, but it was a fun ride. With the exception perhaps of the final Finnish bit, which K told me to skip because it was just too depressing. Looking at the summary I think she was right. (8/10)
