I've been keeping a text file dream diary for the last couple months --- interesting to find that doing so seems to make it easier to remember more dreams more often and in more detail.

Also interesting to see repeated themes: locks (especially a deadbolt that almost but doesn't quite keep the door from being forced open), stairs, family members, being pursued by animals, scenes from the home I grew up in 1983-1994.

For the hell of it I tried (with simrob's help) using Skype to listen in on the ConcertRG reading group at CMU, where they were discussing that "F-ing modules" paper. Verdict is I think that audio quality is in fact not really good enough to not be annoying when there are lots of people talking at various volume levels at once, but it seems like it'd be a useful tool for one-on-one meetings. I've heard of people having advisor meetings this way when their advisors are out of town for extended periods of times and it makes a lot of sense.
