I declare the internet experiment in gaining new friends through bribery to be a FAILURE* and this evening to be a SUCCESS. Because, although I do enjoy meeting new people, the people I already know are also pretty awesome and I got to hang out with a bunch of 'em.

D's for a while, sherbrook for a while, and some interesting PL discussion with gwillen on the walk home.

*Although nondeterministically asking out an as-yet-undetermined person does have the interesting possible (and in this case actual) consequence of being turned down by someone you have never met, and whom you did not realize, by virtue of the nondeterministic nature of the request, you were asking in any particularity. The sheer novelty of it prevents me from feeling disappointed.

Got all geared up to write another lambda-calculus summary, but I realized that there are a couple of gaps still in my understanding of what we actually accomplished today. Too many models, man.

A music student I hazily recognized from the XO Game Jam last november randomly said hello to me and introduced herself in doherty just after class. wjl thought she was flirting with me but I have my doubts. wait no not everything in my life is about lambda calculus and girls halp

Maybe I can cling to the fact that I am still reading Quicksilver and it is still pretty good.
