Strange sleep interruption.

Woke up around 4, my brain was still busy having itself a nightmare even though my eyes had opened and I was walking around. It was kind of cool, actually, in hindsight. My vision was warped, like a horror-movie fisheye lens, my skin was itching like it was being attacked my mysterious insects, and every little sound was OHMYGODWHATWASTHAT. And then suddenly I realized one of the noises was just adam snoring faintly, and I laughed and properly woke up. Now to go back to sleep...

Dreams:

One, I am negotiating with godzilla to not destroy downtown pittsburgh. My bargaining chip: delicious vanilla creme sandwich cookies. In reality, I have been eating a bunch of these cookies ever since Adam brought another box back from whole foods. They're really good. I woke up before I found out whether the offer was accepted, but I like to think it was.

Two, I can adjust the spectral sensitivity of the cones in my eyes to see like ultraviolet and things. That was pretty cool.

I love this weather. Walking to lunch and back was very peaceful. Proving soundness is fucking hard, though. Lately, as has been the case many times before, I have been wishing for a magic-make-other-persons-feel-not-bad button.

Had some dinner, feeling a bit low again, but I see another angle on this stubborn, stubborn soundness proof. I am actually quite amused at how much this work has felt like programming, in that I am spending much of my time thinking about how to make good modules and good module boundaries, wondering what to abstract away, and what to expose.

I need to kick this habit of thinking that when people don't respond immediately to email, it means I have inscrutably and mysteriously done something to horribly offend them and they hate me forever and ever, and never wish to speak to me ever again &c. Unless this is actually the case. Doesn't seem too likely, but I like to cover all the bases.
