Been watching more let's-plays for the Witness. For all of the reviews that complain about it being "just a bunch of puzzles whose reward is only more puzzles", I can't help but remember that there are plenty of games like that. They're... called puzzle games, aren't they? The Witness's contribution (which I think is considerable) is simply the structure of the puzzles themselves, the same way, say, Bach music's contribution is the structure of the notes themselves. Somehow watching someone else play it is giving me about as much aesthetic pleasure as I think I'd get playing it myself.
