Watched "Happy People: A Year in the Taiga", thinking hey, that sounds like a light-hearted movie for Werner Herzog. Result: It did have a good deal more puppies than I ever expected a Herzog movie to have, but it was still pretty much about scratching out a life amid the brutality of the uncaring natural world, fending off bear attacks, fretting about roofs collapsing from heavy snowfall, and alcoholism. So yeah. Happy. I still liked it a lot though.
