Tried to go to the local dog racing track at my dad's suggestion, just to be tourists, because pretty much under no circumstances would we ever go to something like that otherwise --- but it turned out there was no "matinee" it and was closed until later in the evening. Fortunately we found that my dad and stepmom had some bikes in the garage, so that gave us an alternate something-to-do, at least; we rode those around in circles for a few miles in quite pleasant weather.

K and me made lamb curry in the evening as planned, having dinner with everybody plus one of my dad's business bros. Turned out pretty good.
