I am in California now! Staying in corporate temporary housing in Menlo Park. Main pragmatic task right now is figuring out how to rent a car, which I think I'll be able to settle tomorrow. The most recently solved pragmatic task was making sure internet in the apartment actually worked, which it didn't at first, but haranguing the apartment management service into giving me the additional comcast password solved it.

Hung out with gwillen last night and martin today. Had a burrito at "La Bamba Taqueria" on martin's recommendation which was really satisfying and tasty. Martin also helped me schlep over to a grocery store and get some basic snacky things for around the apartment. Feeling much more adequately bootstrapped now.
