I remember some conversation on twitter about how video games are sort of like programming languages, but PLs are a lot "harder" to get into, being so much more open-ended, and generally less documented and hand-holdy. I seem to recall that drifting towards saying that we should experiment with making PLs more like games, whether that means changing their structure or adding ancillary structure (tutorials) to them --- which I actually think is a fine idea --- but it occurred to me Second Quest is, in a way, asking for video games to be more like programming languages, more open-ended, less handholdy --- which, paradoxically, I also think is a fine idea. Thoughts?
