fancybred and dan licata who are postdoc-ing at IAS. Talked about a bunch of math and the usual general gossip and stuff. Saw Mike Shulman give a couple of talks on stuff from the big swirling nexus of geometric/categorical ideas: simplices, Kan complexes, stacks, fibrations, etc. etc. etc.The grounds of the IAS were gorgeous, a full-on smattering of nature-y autumn-color charming-old-architecture academic wonderland. I wonder if it starts to feels a little isolated, though.
Also visited with Laura and Ryan. There was delicious turkey chili and Daily Show.
