Oh my god you guys Ed Benguiat is the best. You all of course know him as a famous font dude, from perhaps the eponymous typeface that graces every other SFF novel cover, or a variety of others. K got me in to a lecture at Cooper jointly given by him and Ken Barber (the latter of which looks exactly like the picture he has on the House Industries website:

) but Ed really stole the show. Curmudgeonly, but in a friendly, crazy-uncle-Ed sort of way. Completely unflinching in criticizing his own work, to a hilarious extent. Good times.
