Poking around Cvitanovic's "Birdtracks" book a bit, but it's really pretty dense. I'm intrigued by the diagrams on p. 22, which suggest that there are only two functions of interest in a world acted on by SO(3), the two we're already familiar with: the dot product and the cross product.
