Dad and stepmom are in town; during lunch gave them the tour de goog. I notice the first thing people ask about the cafeteria food after "is it really free???" is "is this just available all day???" to which the answers are yes and no, respectively. It's remarkable how much one's expectations adjust to one's reality that the first of these seems nearly entirely normal to me by now, and yet a hypothetical negation of the second seems preposterous.

Going out to dinner shortly. I still feel a bit awkward asking waiters the I-am-being-a-super-paranoid-person-with-food-allergies question "Does this thing that is entirely unlikely to have X actually not have X in it?" in person in the restaurant around even people I know and like, but then I realized I could just call on the phone and ask. Win!

That would be a sad allergy. The ood are so cute and cuddly. Like plush-cthulhu.
