Jamie Morgenstern, the undergrad our research group has borrowed from U Chicago for the summer, hosted a very nice dinner for a bunch of us grad students with Dan Licata collaborating on food. The food was reasonably fancy, but I rather enjoyed it despite my largely uncultured and traditionally fancy-skeptical, um, foodological sense. There was some sort of pea-based savoury flan with mushrooms and sundried tomato that was quite interesting.
