Attended meeting with Nobot people from Princeton (Dave Walker, Nate Foster) UPenn (Boon Thau Loo, Benjamin Pierce, Stephanie Weirich, Steve Zdancewic, Adam Aziz), and Harvard (Greg Morrisett). Some interesting stuff. Some of the networks stuff went over my head, but it sounds like it occasionally did for the other PL people present also, so that's comforting. It's all learnable anyhow.

Here in Philadelphia now with nothing pressing until early tomorrow afternoon when I take the train back. Things that make me feel like I might be okay living here for a year.

1) Chipotle very near campus.

2) Decent library and bookstore around.

3) Regularly spaced holes in poured concrete.
Levine Hall

It's like I never left Wean! Except Levine is actually nice and hip-looking in areas that are not this stairwell. They seem to have gone for blackboards instead of whiteboards in the hallways. I think I am okay with that. I'll just have to start carrying around chalk instead of whiteboard markers.
