Night before last, saw "Synecdoche, NY" with _tove. Decent, not great, (6/10). I agree with nightspore: "relentless whenever it's not hilarious", though it must be admitted it is solidly hilarious in a few places. I simply got exhausted with Philip Seymour Hoffman's character's sheer patheticness, and couldn't really look the other way by the time the only humor left was a million barely-different riffs on "hee hee the frame story and the by-design-isomorphic internal story are interfering with one another".
