Had half-price, finally. It was pretty good. Wrestled for a while with Windows doing weird, not-fully-explained things with font-caching. In the end I was not able to figure out any way to invalidate one or more cache items that did not require administrator privileges (e.g. trash windows\system32\fntcache.dat). Granted, I knew other ways around my particular problem, but it became an exercise to see if I could do it in a compact, repeatable, non-reboot, non-administrator way.
