Consider the internet.

It is full and overflowing with things, blogs and news, diversions and distractions, noobs and boobs alike. But also you will find in it, if you are lucky, the rare piece of profound wisdom. I found one today, and I like to read it while imagining Paul's unmistakably sermonic voice lingering on just the right words for emphasis. It is this:

If one forgets to plug in the toaster, toast can take a long time.

Remember this — and I will too — the next time you wonder why your thesis is not finished.
