Been doing some miscellaneous javascript and android programming for Seekrit Fun Project X. This is the first time I'm trying to actually do anything significant against the android API --- I earlier did a couple small experiments piping the accelerometer sensor to, like, the cutoff frequency of a lowpass filter so I could rock the phone back and forth and make my computer speakers go bwwweeeeoow etc. It's a pretty crazy ball of wires and duct tape.
Also went and talked to a couple dudes at MSR, on fancybred's advice. (thanks noam!) Pleasant enough to chat, but I'm not sure anybody outside the Cambridge office (or maybe a couple of people in Redmond) is doing anything like the PL research I would recognize as at all familiar. |

MSR WA does all kinds of REALLY USEFUL ACTUALLY USED BY MS program analysis crap that is super boring, at least to me. I saw lots and lots of talks on it at UW. Some of it's kind of neat, but it's not "proper PL". | |
