Really love that google maps lets you display just the street networks in cities. Beautiful stuff: I obtained these by a simple tweak of the "Hello World" example in the maps api documentation: https://gist.github.com/4478013
Melbourne:

Beijing
 Madison
 Salt Lake City
 Paris

Good ol' mole with dewlap.
The slightly rotated angular Melbourne Central Business District explains why I felt disoriented every time I ventured into the suburbs. Thanks for posting!
Thanks, this was my first thought too, and I was thinking, am I a total yinzer for wanting to see what the Burgh looks like with streets-only view?
Wow, Beijing looks a lot like some of the layouts I used to make in Sim City 2000.
WOW!!
and, I didn't realize Paris was so get-lost-able.
I have really good sense of direction, but the first few times I was in Paris I would frequently get turned around and think I'm going, say south, but end up walking east. Now that I know the city a bit better, it doesn't happen as often, but still. | |
